Ravenhall

Ravenhall is Chris Brebner and Joe Ravenhall — two mates from Auckland who've been making music together since Joe answered an ad on bands.co.nz the better part of twenty years ago. After years in full bands doing the heavy lifting, they stripped it all back to what was always underneath: a big voice, an acoustic guitar, and songs with room to breathe.

They write about the real stuff — memory, love, leaving, mates getting older, the ache of looking back, and the long road of a marriage. Chris has a big, weathered voice that does the heavy lifting over spare acoustic arrangements; the songs get written over a few beers, with Joe keeping things honest whenever a lyric gets lazy.

Across a decade they've put out a steady run of singles and records — The Coming Storm (2021), Live at Brebs Bar (2023) and the album Brother (2024) — picked up national radio play, and reached listeners around the world through their stripped-back reimaginings of 80s classics, like their take on "King of Wishful Thinking." A new EP is on the way in 2026.

They don't play live often. When they do, the whole family's invited.
